Remembrance Day Acknowledgement
Dear École Red Bluff Lhtako Families,
As we approach Remembrance Day, we are reminded of the sacrifices made by countless individuals in service to our country. This important day is a solemn occasion, a time to honour and reflect on the courage, dedication, and selflessness of those who have served and continue to serve to protect freedoms around the world.
On November 8, our students will participate in a special Remembrance Day ceremony at the school; thank you Mr. Colegate’s class for organizing this event. To show respect, we kindly ask all students to enter and exit the gym in silence, allowing time for reflection and honouring the significance of this day. Each student will also be provided with a poppy, a symbol of remembrance, which we encourage them to wear with pride.
We also encourage families to talk about how they can observe Remembrance Day together on November 11. In Quesnel, there will be a Remembrance Day parade beginning at 10:30 a.m. at the Quesnel Cenotaph, followed by a ceremony at the Cenotaph at 11:00 a.m. This is a meaningful way to participate in the community’s tribute to those who have sacrificed for our country. For those who are unable to attend multiple networks and streaming service will broadcast ceremonies from across the country.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all service members, past and present, who have given so much for our country. Their sacrifices humble us, and we are deeply grateful for the freedoms we enjoy because of them.
Thank you for your support in making this Remembrance Day meaningful for our students.
