District Vice-Principal of Early Learning and Child Care Appointment

The Quesnel School District is pleased to announce that Ms. Shauna Lothrop has been appointed to the position of district vice-principal of early learning and child care effective January 1, 2025.

Ms. Lothrop has been employed at the Quesnel School District since 2002 and has worked as a kindergarten teacher, learning assistance teacher, resource teacher and most recently as an early literacy teacher.

On November 21, Professor Wow gave French Immersion students an amazing French show about the science behind magic.  Grade 8/9 French Immersion students from QJS joined the K-7 French Immersion show.  Professor Wow showed us how to balance objects, how to pass the sound barrier and  become an atom!  He certainly wowed the audience with his tricks!

“Students in Mr. Colegate's class were challenged to make simple machines that demonstrate both potential and kinetic energy as part of their unit on electricity.”

Ms. Lowndes/Dawson's class celebrated their learning and held a "Chill Fair"!

Similar to a science fair, students chose a topic of interest and created projects to present in the gym. The focus was about strategies to reduce stress (the importance of sleep, stress busting products, deep breathing, etc.)

Student worked alone or in pairs.  If students chose to work with a partner they were prepared to share the workload and present their final project together.

As we approach Remembrance Day, we are reminded of the sacrifices made by countless individuals in service to our country. This important day is a solemn occasion, a time to honour and reflect on the courage, dedication, and selflessness of those who have served and continue to serve to protect freedoms around the world.

From garden to table!

Ms. Kishkan and Ms. William fed a lot of kids today from ÈRBL's garden vegetables. There was two crockpots full of stew and Ms. Williams made bannock. The children worked hard to plant, harvest the garden and clean all the vegetables.

Ms. Lowndes/Mrs. Dawson class joined Ms. Kishkan’s class.  The older kids buddied up with a younger child and they ate lunch together. 

They loved the stew and bannock! 

The proposed amended School District 28 Calendar for the 2024-2025 school year is  available below. The proposed change moves the April 2025 Professional Development Day to Friday April 11, 2025.
