Mr. Colegate's class was lucky enough to have Mrs. McCart come in to teach them how to create Psyanky eggs! They did a beautiful job and thoroughly enjoyed themselves!!
Before Spring Break, Mme Suzie created another magical setting for St. Patrick's Day! The kids in her class built Leprechaun traps to catch the sneaky guy in the act! In the morning, their traps were destroyed and they even found his beard hair stuck in them!
Also, they couldn't find their inside shoes and discovered the Leprechaun had hung them from the ceiling in the office!
And to top it all off, he peed in the sink and left a trail of poop on the floor!
The Girls’ Basketball Team just wrapped up an amazing season together! This season, the team won 6 out of 7 games, and finished third in the district!!
Practices were twice a week at lunch, and games were after school. Congratulations to the girls for all their improvements this season!
Throughout the school year, our library is blessed to host a salmonid program...from eyed-eggs to fry. Part of this program is learning about the anatomy of a salmon, hence, our week of dissections!
Students learned all about the internal and external anatomy of the salmon, both through a guided dissection, and through hands-on examination of various parts, such as eggs, scales, heart, gills, eyes (including the lenses!), etc.
Mme Suzie's Kindness Act on Pink shirt day left some students wondering what she was up to this year. The French Immersion Kindergarten once again grew treats using the wonderful world of make believe. Students planted seeds and left them in complete darkness for 24 hours. They were able to harvest enough donuts for the whole school!
Relay Education’s Kids' World of Energy Festival is a school-based event that exposes students to a variety of energy types in a hands-on environment. Students get a chance to explore wind power with wind turbines, solar power with solar panels, electricity with circuits, and biogas with chemical mixtures.
It is with great excitement that the French Immersion Kindergarten class got to be the first to use drums with Ms. William on Wednesday February 12th. Mrs. Bolin, Quesnel Director of Instruction and Mr. Tate, Principal of our school, joined our class for the event.
The class set of mini-drums were made locally by Danielle Smith from ?Esdilagh.
École Red Bluff Lhtako school and PAC and the Indigenous Department shared the cost of the mini-drums.
On Wednesday, January 29th, Mr. Colegate's class celebrated Lunar New Year by learning about Seollal, which is New Year’s Day in Korea. There was a presentation about how Lunar New Year is celebrated in Korea, followed by some noodles and fun Korean games, like Yut-Nori, Hali-Gali, and Gonggi.
And today, Mme Sturt/Braun's class led the Lunar New Year Parade through the whole school!
